FAQ
BMI (Body Mass Index) is calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms by the square of your height in metres. It is an internationally recognised indicator of body size. A BMI below 18.5 is underweight, 18.5–24.9 is normal, 25–29.9 is overweight, and 30 or above is obese (WHO classification).
BMI is a useful screening tool but does not account for muscle mass, bone density, or fat distribution. Athletes and older adults in particular may get misleading results. Please consult a doctor or health professional for a complete assessment.
BMI 22 is associated with the lowest disease risk according to several epidemiological studies and is widely used as a reference point for calculating an ideal body weight.
